U.S. Coast Guard Suspends Search for Missing Man

As of Tuesday afternoon, the U.S. Coast Guard has suspended their search for a man who went missing from a tanker off the coast of Port Aransas on Sunday.

It was Sunday when a 47-year old Russian man, the chief engineer of an 800-foot tanker called the Elia, went missing. The tanker was about 20 miles offshore and on its way to Port Aransas.

Coast Guard officials said they used several resources from Corpus Christi, Port Aransas and other areas in their search, even expanding their search radius to cover 3,600 square miles.
