U.S. Navy Determining What to Do with Training Plane Crashed in Gulf

Two U.S. Navy pilots, a female student and a male instructor, are said to be resting comfortably after being forced to evacuate their training plane before it crashed into the Gulf Thursday.

The U.S. Coast Guard was dispatched to rescue the pilots about two miles offshore in between Bob Hall Pier and Port Aransas. Fortunately, the two pilots were not injured.

On Friday, U.S. Navy officials said they are trying to determine if they are going to salvage the aircraft. It will take about a month to determine that. 3News will keep you updated.
