Veteran Detained by Police for Patrolling Flour Bluff Neighborhood with Long Rifle

A 38-year old veteran was detained for questioning and then released Tuesday morning in Flour Bluff for walking through his neighborhood in the 900 block of Flour Bluff Drive with a long rifle on his shoulder.

It all started just before 9 a.m. when the man discovered graffiti on his property. He went to ask neighbors if they had seen anyone around his property. According to police, the man was angry and went to his home to retrieve a long rifle, and then began patrolling his neighborhood.

Police arrived on the scene and detained the man for questioning. He was later released, and his weapon was returned to him. Witnesses at the scene could not confirm to police that the man had pointed his weapon at anyone.
