Saturday morning, a group of local Vietnam veterans along with supporters traveled to Austin to attend the unveiling of the The Texas Capitol Vietnam Veterans Monument. The monument will stand as an honor to all Texans who served in the Vietnam War and it will also serve as a permanent memorial to the 3,417 Texans who never came home. About 10,000 people are expected at today's unveiling, including Gov. Rick Perry. Saturday, we spoke with Ram Chavez, a local Vietnam veteran, about the monument, and how it both honors veterans and teaches future generations about our past.
