Water Bills Will Rise as Mary Rhodes Pipeline Project Continues

City Council has approved issuing bonds to pay for the Mary Rhodes Phase II pipeline project, which will build a pipeline from the Colorado River to Lake Texana. One side effect, though, is that your water bill will be going up.

The increase is 24.8-cents per thousand gallons of water, and since the average homeowner uses 7,000 gallons of water a month, the increase should only amount to about $1.75.

Kiii News Reporter Brian Burns looked into what this means for homeowners and came back with an update on the pipeline project.
