West First Responder Arrested, Not Tied to Deadly Explosion

WEST, Texas (Kiii News) - In the small town of West, a first responder to the Texas fertilizer plant explosion has been arrested for having a destructive device in his possession.

Bryce Reed, a West emergency volunteer, was booked Friday. He was one of the speakers at a memorial for the victims, which was held at Baylor University.

Fourteen people were killed in the explosion, and many homes and buildings were damaged by the powerful blast at West Fertilizer company.

Authorities have not tied Reed's arrest to the deadly blast.
