West Oso High School Seniors Announce Plans for College

It was a bittersweet scene Thursday at one westside high school as graduating seniors announced which college they plan on attending.

West Oso High School hosted their College Decision Day celebration on Thursday, allowing students the chance to thank their college advisor, Rosa Gutierrez, for helping the school's senior class of 2014.

It was an emotional day for West Oso Independent School District Superintendent Elizabeth Saenz. Her own daughter is also graduating and planning the next phase of her young adult life.

"I'm very proud of her," Saenz said. "She is my last one. She is my baby, but it's sad. I want her to do whatever she is passionate about."

Many students pledged to continue to get their higher education at Texas A&M University in College Station, the University of Texas, Kansas State University and others.
