Woman Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Vehicle from Restaurant

While conducting a routine traffic stop just after midnight Tuesday, a Corpus Christi police officer discovered the vehicle was reported stolen and arrested the 24-year old driver.

The officer initiated the traffic stop after noticing the white GMC Yukon had a broken tail light. The officer soon discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen at 3:30 p.m. Monday and arrested 24-year old Debbie Salazar for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The man who had reported the vehicle stolen told police that he had left his keys in the ignition and the engine running while going into a restaurant to get food.

The Yukon was impounded and Salazar was taken to the City Detention Center.
