Police said an elderly driver ran their vehicle through a vacant building Friday.
It was around 11:30 a.m. Friday when the driver, who was on her way to a salon appointment, parked in front of a vacant building on Staples and Annapolis.
Instead of hitting the brakes, she hit the gas and rammed her small Toyota through the glass store-front.
"God was watching today, and it was an abandoned building, not a building that was inhabited. Good thing no one was hurt," said Officer Richard Olden of the Corpus Christi Police Department.
The woman's daughter took her mom to their family doctor for a checkup. She was not given a ticket, since the accident happened on private property.
