Woman Found Dead in Trash Compactor Identified

The Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office released Monday morning the identity of the woman who was found dead in the trash compactor of a dump truck on April 15 at the Republic Waste Services facility on Agnes.

The woman was identified as 41-year old Nancy Lea Bailey. Authorities are ruling her death an accident. Bailey died from multiple blunt force injuries, likely caused by the trash compactor.

Upon finding Bailey's body, officers began investigating her death, suspecting that she may have been homeless seeking shelter from the wind during a cold front that night.
