Woman Rescued After Getting Car Stuck Beneath an 18-Wheeler

A 67-year old woman had to have paramedics free her from her vehicle Friday morning after her car got wedged beneath an 18-wheeler on Highway 281.

According to Department of Public Safety troopers, it was around 11:30 a.m. when the woman was on Highway 281 trying to cross onto County Road 467, failing to see a dark blue sport utility vehicle and an 18-wheeler coming her way.

She managed to avoid the SUV, but the 18-wheeler clipped the back of her vehicle, caused the car to spin and go under the big rig.

Fire officials had to rescue the woman from underneath the vehicle. She was taken to Christus Spohn Alice with some serious injuries, but was in stable condition.
