Woman Robbed by 60-Year Old Man

Corpus Christi police are investigating an early morning robbery that happened on Leopard Street Monday morning.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Dollar General on the 9000 block of Leopard Street. Police said a man robbed a woman and threatened her with a gun.

Police said the 32-year old woman was approached by a man in the parking lot who demanded her cell phone and showed her a pistol. The man then told the woman he would shoot her if she did not follow his orders.

The woman talked the man into accepting some money instead of her phone. The man agreed and walked away from the woman. Shortly after, she flagged down an officer in the area, and he was able to catch up to the 60-year old suspect.

Police want residents to be cautious when they are out and about. Pay attention to your surroundings. Make sure you are not on your cell phone when you are walking to your car. Thieves usually prey on distracted people.
