Kim Connelly also reached on a single in the final frame for the third hit of the day. Amy Thibodeaux hit an RBI single in the top of the second, driving in Audrey Wood, who led off the inning with a double to right center. In the top of the third Danielle Clayton singled go center plating Kathryn Harrell. Harrell finished with two of the team’s seven hits on the day, while Nicole finished with a pair of hits as well. The Islanders finished the season with a 21-32 record doubling their win total from last year. Their 11-19 Southland Conference mark also doubles the wins in league play from a year ago. “I am really proud of the girls. Anytime you double your win total from last year you are doing some good things,” head coach Jake Schumann said. “Now we just have to start working for next year and fill in the gaps that will be left by our four seniors.” Craig Merriman |
