February 9, 2009 The CCISD Board of Trustees voted on Monday night to hire former Woodsboro head football coach Charlie McMath as the new football coach and athletic coordinator at Moody High School. McMath spent the 2008 season as passing coordinator at Texas City High School. He had worked previously at La Marque and Bryan as an offensive assistant. In a telephone interview late Monday night, McMath cited a desire to return to South Texas after leaving Woodsboro at the end of the 2005 season. McMath plans to run a wide open, pass-heavy offense at Moody, which competes in District 30-4A against traditional South Texas powerhouse programs such as Gregory-Portland and Beeville as well as fellow CCISD teams Ray and Miller. McMath will report for duty at Moody on Monday February 16th. He is replacing Frank Bacy, a longtime CCISD assistant coach, who resigned at Moody in December. Bacy spent four years as the Trojans head coach and athletic coordinator. |

Nice record at Woodsboro. 4-6. A proven winner. Don't know why someone wants to pass the football at Moody with all that speed. Seems like a person with a balanced attack would have been a better fit.
