#1 Pick Castro Headed to Hooks

The Houston Astros have promoted Catcher Jason Castro from Class A Lancaster, California to the Corpus Christi Hooks.

Castro, who was the Astros #1 pick last June in the 2008 Amateur Draft, hit .309 with seven home runs and 44 RBIs for Lancaster, including .328 with four homers and 32 RBIs in May.

He is expected to make his Class AA debut on Wednesday night as the Hooks open a series at Whataburger Field.
