October 21, 2009 The Corpus Christi Hammerheads have reached an agreement to return to the American Bank Center beginning next spring. The IFL franchise was booted out of the ABC three years ago to make room for the Corpus Christi Sharks af2 franchise that folded last week. The Hammerheads, who played at the much smaller Central Pavilion Arena in Robstown the past three seasons, averaged nearly 7,000 fans in the two years they played at the American Bank Center. The IFL will release a 2010 schedule next month. It will include two new Texas teams in Austin and Amarillo. Both are expected to play games against the Hammerheads in the ABC this spring.
