The Corpus Christi Hammerheads overcame ejections and penalties to post their fourth straight win on Saturday night. The 44-35 victory over division rival Abilene moved the Hammerheads to 6-6 on the season. The game was marred by an altercation between Corpus Christi lineman Eli Abraham and an official that left the official, Joel Hilliard, dazed by a blow to the face. Abraham was later arrested and booked into the Nueces County Jail on assault charges.

I don't agree with his actions but, calling it roid rage is miss informed commentary. We all, including many professional players, get a little carried away when mad. He could have reacted better and just respected the call made by the official, but there is no need to claim he has roid rage. As a friend of the family, I know Eli is a great individual and the legal actions taken will be lesson enough for him. No need to disrespect.

Now we know who'll square off in the face for governor. Who do you like at this point, Republican incumbent Rick Perry or Democratic challenger, Bill White, former mayor of Houston?

  • Governor Rick Perry
  • Bill White
  • Neither, I'm waiting for a third party candidate.
