Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 80, SE Louisiana 72

HOUSTON (AP) - Cedric Smith scored 17 of Texas A-and-M-Corpus
Christi's 38 bench points in the Islanders' 80-to-72 win over
Southeastern Louisiana.
It was the first round of the Southland Conference men's
tournament.
After leading at halftime, the top-seeded Islanders had to
withstand a second-half challenge by the Lions.
Texas A-and-M-Corpus Christi got some key scores inside from
senior post Chris Daniels and converted free throws to hold off the
Lions.
Kevin Menefee scored 14 points and had a game-high 12 rebounds.
Josh Ervin added 12 points for Texas A-and-M-Corpus Christi.
Southeastern Louisiana (16-14) was led by guard Daryl Cohen's 18
points. Forward Joseph Polite scored 13, and guard Terry Bryant
finished with 12.
