Seating Section Collapses at TCU

Dan MacReynolds

February 8, 2008

FORT WORTH — The concrete base of a seating section under construction at TCU's football stadium collapsed before dawn Friday, sending steel and concrete tumbling into a lower section.

There were no injuries, and officials were investigating the cause of the collapse that occurred about 2 a.m., TCU spokeswoman Lisa Albert said.

A $13 million athletic complex is being added to the south end of Amon Carter Stadium. The facility will have six luxury suites and 250 club seats with access to adjacent Daniel Meyer Coliseum, TCU's basketball arena. It is scheduled for completion this summer.
