Cowboys go for secondary help with 25th pick after deal with
Seahawks

NEW YORK (AP) - The Dallas Cowboys have snared defensive back
Mike Jenkins of South Florida with the 25th selection in the NFL
draft. The Cowboys landed the pick in a trade with Seattle.
Jenkins started 13 games for South Florida last season despite
being suspended indefinitely during the spring for his role in a
disturbance at an off-campus gathering. He had 41 tackles, 12 pass
breakups, three interceptions and four tackles for loss as a
senior. He also ran back seven kicks for a 30.4-yard average,
including a 100-yard touchdown run against Cincinnati.
Jenkins started 12 games at right corner in 2006, finishing with
27 tackles, 15 pass breakups and one interception.
The 5-foot-10, 197-pound Jenkins has natural man-cover skills
and possesses a good size-speed ratio. He has great speed and can
close fast on receivers. He also makes quick recoveries when caught
out of position.
Jenkins has all the physical tools to become an All-Pro if he
plays with more consistency.
