Mike graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in May of 2005, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Communication.

Upon graduating, Mike was hired as an Associate Producer at New England Cable News (NECN), the nation's largest regional news network. From December 2005 to June 2007, he worked as a news writer for WHDH-TV Boston's NBC affiliate, covering Barack Obama's first visit to the influential primary state of New Hampshire. From July of 2007 to December of 2008, Mike worked as a general assignments TV news reporter for KECI-TV in Missoula, Montana (Missoula's NBC affiliate). During his time at KECI, Mike reported extensively on the 2008 presidential election, covering historic campaign visits to Montana by Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama.

Following a year and a half of covering news stories ranging from wildfires to crime to education and the economy at KECI-TV, Mike returned to Massachusetts, creating his own Boston area video news blog. Mike's blog was primarily politically focused, and provided the experience of connecting with a large, interactive and social media savvy audience.

In October 2010, Kiii-TV proudly welcomed Mike to the Three News team, and into the south Texas community.

On a Personal note, Mike has a strong and abiding faith in God, and is sustained and guided by his Christian faith. He also enjoys playing basketball and golf in his spare time and likes watching movies and television and listening to music.
