You can see Rudy Treviño weekdays on 3 NEWS at five with co-anchor Katia Uriarte and Bill Vessey, and Sunday mornings on KIII-TV's award winning Domingo Live! Show with co-host Barbi Leo. A sixth generation Texan, Rudy was born and raised in Beeville. After graduating from A.C. Jones High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy and earned his Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from George Washington University in Washington D.C.

Rudy has worked as a reporter and news anchor for several stations in Texas and California, where he earned several Associated Press Broadcast Awards, California Chicano News Media Awards and two Emmy Awards for his live coverage of the Los Angeles riots and the San Francisco earthquake.

Outside of his television broadcast career, Rudy is President and CEO of National Hispanic Syndicated Radio and host of the internationally syndicated radio program Tejano Gold Countdown.

Rudy has been featured in many magazines including People, the L.A. Review, Nuestras Vidas, a magazine for the Hispanic family and Planet Tejano. He has also been recognized as Hispanic Business Entrepreneur of the Year by Hispanic Business Magazine. Since returning back home to Texas, Rudy has received the Governor's Volunteer of the Year Award in 2001, and most recently, he received the 2005 Armando Marroquin Sr. Lifetime Achievement Award from the Tejano R.O.O.T.S.     At least 80 immigrants suspected of entering the United States illegally were arrested in a makeshift encampment in suburban South Texas.They were found in an undeveloped patch of scrub near an abandoned tennis club in McAllen. They were camped under tents and huts camouflaged with mesquite branches and cacti.     Police say fists were flying as a huge bar fight breaks out at a popular south side bar.The fight broke out around 2:15 on Saturday morning at the Whiskey River bar which is in the 5700 block of South Staples. According to police, the fight started inside the bar then it moved outside. One police officer was struck in the brawl. Several men and women who were involved in the melee were taken to jail.More >>
