You can see Bill Vessey, and his weather forecast, every weekday on Three News at Five with Katia Uriarte and Rudy Trevino, and at Six and Ten with Joe Gazin, Katia Uriarte, and Dan McReynolds. Although Bill was born in New York City, he grew up in Kingsville and has spent most of his life in Texas. Bill earned his Bachelor's degrees in Journalism from Texas A&I University in Kingsville, which is now Texas A&M Kingsville, and Meteorology from Mississippi State University. Bill began his broadcasting career as a country & western DJ for KINE Radio in Kingsville. After gaining experience in radio, he then pursued his television broadcast career, working in Laredo and San Antonio, where he earned the San Antonio Press Club's Best Newscast Award.
Bill has achieved the highest level of broadcast meteorology recognition possible by becoming one of the first people in the world to earn the American Meteorological Society's Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal. Bill is an adjunct professor of meteorology at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, a multi-time Best Of The Best Winner and was chosen by The Island Sun as one of the 25 smartest people in Corpus Christi. Bill is very dedicated to South Texas and to his community, volunteering his time to numerous local schools and organizations.
Bills personal style is simple, "what you see is what you get" Bill says, "I'm the same person both on and off the air. South Texas is my home because I don't like cold weather, I like the beach and I like working for the #1 station! As far as the weather, nobody can be perfect, but I try to be."
