CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - Here's something that may surprise you. Many convicted sex offenders and pedophiles have to check in with probation officials at a building right across the street from moody high school.
It's been that way for a long time. The adult probation department has been located across from Moody since 1995. State law now requires a public hearing before that could happen. A number of Moody parents have been stunned to learn just how close to the campus those sex offenders can be.
The Director of Adult Probation says his staff closely monitors the activity around the building with cameras and officers. He says nothing has happened in the 16 years the building has been there.
