A former Nederland High School teacher, accused of having a sexual relationship with one of his students, turned himself in to police and has since bonded out.
35-year-old Reagan Hawkins is charged with sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between educator and student.
Nederland Chief of Police Darrell Bush tells 12 News HD that investigators already interviewed Hawkins, who denied the allegations.
Hawkins is being represented by attorney Allen Parker.
According to an affidavit for arrest, Hawkins began a relationship with a female student from his debate class in 2009. At the time, the student was 14-years-old. The affidavit contains details of the alleged relationship between Hawkins and the student.
