CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - The family of a murdered man speaks out about a life taken too soon. 40-year-old Michael Olivarez was a father of three from Alice, Texas.

Early morning Tuesday, August 30, 2011, Olivarez's body was found lying in the middle of the road on Crestmore Dr. near Holly Rd. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds.

Police continue to search for the killer, and the victims mom says she won't rest until justice is served. She was too upset to go on camera, but Oscar Delgado, the victim's uncle who he lived with had these words, "that is what I want them to remember, him, his attitude he we all loved him. We joked a lot and he was a very funny guy. He will be remembered by all of us. And I can say that he was my favorite nephew."

The victim's family gathered at this home on the 800 block Lucero St in Alice Wednesday afternoon to mourn his loss.

Michael Olivarez lived in Alice most of his life. He was a 1989 graduate of Alice High School, and his uncle says he was a completive boxer for several years. He went on to father three boys, now ages 17, 6, and 2. He recently lived in the Valley and had just moved back to Alice.

The family is inviting his friends to Ruben M. Garcia & Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2011. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be on Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at New Collins Cemetery.

The loss has been especially hard of the victim's three sons.
