South Texas Birding: Migration Season

Posted: Updated:

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - Biologist Beau Hardegree joins Kim Passoth on 3 News First Edition to talk about the different types of birds found in the coastal bend during migration season.

Winter Texan is a term not just for northern people enjoying the milder climate in South Texas, but also to birds. Hardegree says during winter, a variety of birds can be found throughout the coastal bend, including robins and hill cranes, as well as numerous types of ducks. Hardegree says a few of the best places to catch a glimpse of these birds include Hans Suter Park and the JFK causeway.
