Corpus Christi (Kiii Sports)- Former Miller football and baseball star Mike Cantu has been hired as the new Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator at Moody High School.
Mike spent time as an assistant coach at both Ray and Carroll, running a sophisticated spread offense at both CCISD schools. His son, Michael, is the starting QB at Carroll and plans to again suit up for the #1 ranked Tigers this baseball season. Coach Cantu says they'll discuss a possible transfer before the next football season.
Mike will begin duties at Moody on Wednesday February 15th. He replaces Charlie McMath, who is moving to an administrative position within the CCISD Athletic Department.
