Scam of the Week

Bligh also talks about the scam of the week dealing with tax preparation companies.

A number of Better Business Bureaus across the country have received consumer complaints and media questions about a tax preparation company called Mo Money Taxes. The company is a tax preparation company headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, and has an "F" rating for failure to respond to consumer complaints, including some from the Coastal Bend.

Police in Norfolk, VA have confiscated computers and closed the local office. Consumers complain they were promised their refunds by the end of January but have not yet received them. Consumers are going to some Mo Money offices and finding them closed, and tell BBB that Mo Money does not answer the phone or return calls.

Mo Money is blaming the IRS for its problems.

If you have a consumer question, contact the Better Business Bureau.
