Triple Murder in Alice

UPDATE: More information is coming in to the 3Newsroom, according to Alice Police Chief Daniel Bueno, Felix Chapa, 24, is in jail charged with 3 counts of Capital Murder.

Alice Police say they got a call around 3:30 AM Friday of a man with a stab wound in the front yard of a home near the intersection of St. Joseph Street and College.  Officers rushed to the scene and found Ivan Joshua Hughes, 20, with severe stab wounds.  They rushed him to the hospital where he later died.

Officers still on the scene began investigating and followed a blood trail to a home on St. Josephs Street.  Inside they found another victim, William Brian Hughes, 15, dead from stab wounds.  The third victim, Michelle Hughes, 41, was found next door also dead from stab wounds.

The suspect, Chapa, was picked up a short time later.  Police say he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of his arrest.  Police say he is an ex-member of the military

Investigators with the U.S. Army have been on scene collecting evidence as they investigate this crime along with the Alice PD.

Chief Bueno calling this a sad day for Alice and Jim Wells County.

UPDATE: Alice Police Chief Daniel Bueno has announced he will be holding a press conference at Noon Friday to give additional information concerning the Triple Homicide investigation.

Sources say the Alice Police Department is investigating a triple homicide that happened early Friday morning.

There are not many details available, but we have heard the case involves a mother and her two teenage sons.

One person has been arrested and is currently in custody at the Jim Wells County Jail.  3News is working on getting the details and will bring you more information as it becomes available.
