
Officers contacted the Dollar General Store employee who reported she was assisting a male customer when he pulled a knife and demanded the money from the register. The suspect grabbed an undetermined amount of money from the register and fled on foot towards Staples Street.
Another customer in the store observed the robbery and called 911 while the robbery was in progress. Witnesses were able to provide Officers en route to the call detailed suspect information and he was located in less than 15 minutes.
Officer B. Pici detained the suspect at the intersection of Dolphin and Redwood. Joe Ramos, 34, was returned to the Dollar General where he was positively identified by the victim and witnesses.
Ramos was arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery. The stolen money was recovered and tagged as evidence.
