Jones to Graduate, Then Transfer

Posted: Updated:

Corpus Christi (Kiii Sports) - Texas A&M-CC Senior Terence Jones will invoke a seldom-used NCAA rule to play a final year of men's basketball- but not with the Islanders.

Terence, who was red-shirted for academic reason in his first year at A&M-CC, will receive his degree in Communications on schedule later this month. He will then take advantage of an NCAA regulation that allows graduate students to become instantly eligible for a final season at a new university.

Jones talked with several schools, including Tulsa and Penn State, before committing to the University of Alabama-Birmingham this past weekend.

Neither UAB nor Texas A&M-CC has confirmed Jones' decision.
