Man Thrown Out of Party Returns With A Gun

Occurred Sunday, April 29, 2012, 2:40am, 6600 Rhine, Aggravated Assault

A 19-year-old man was arrested Sunday morning after chasing and shooting at several people, then running from police.

A host of a party asked 19-year-old David Ovalle to leave the party after Ovalle became intoxicated. Ovalle went home which is located one street away from the party and returned with a pistol. Ovalle discharged the handgun at the house which sent those at the party to flee. Ovalle pointed his gun as chased three people into a nearby apartment complex.

Corpus Christi Police Officers arrived and chased Ovalle until Ovalle was apprehended. No person was injured in the event. Police seized the loaded pistol and delivered Ovalle to the city detention center.

Ovalle was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (a 2nd degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine), Evading Arrest (a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and up to a $4,000 fine), and for Public Intoxication (a Class C misdemeanor punishable by up to a $500 fine).
