
The Corpus Christi City Council has unanimously approved a 25 year, $117 Million incentive package aimed at bringing new life to Padre Island.
The performance-based deal requires Schlitterbahn to begin building a major water park and resort within the next nine months. It would also reward developers who are planning a companion "Riverwalk" style resort surrounding the Schlitterbahn project.
Joe Gazin traveled to South Padre Island this week to get a first-hand look at how the Schlitterbahn water park there has impacted that community. He filed this Special Report.
