Carroll's Hawkins could have busy week ahead

Posted: Updated:

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - Carroll's Courtney Hawkins will be logging the air miles next week, when we travels to Secaucus, New Jersey to be there in person for the Major League Baseball draft Monday.

Hawkins is expected to be a 1st round pick as a projected outfielder and is rumored to be shooting up several draft boards.

All this is just days before the Tigers could be going for a second state championship in Round Rock. Carroll would advance to the state semifinals next Friday if they can beat Laredo Alexander in a best two-out-of-three series starting this Thursday.

Hawkins became even more well-known to scouts on the national stage two years ago when he threw complete game with 149 pitches in the championship win over Klein.
