CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Bet you didn't know it, but Friday was World Oceans Day. It's our planet's biggest celebration of the ocean, and it's held every June 8.
Where better to celebrate locally, than the Texas State Aquarium. The TSA held a bunch of special events for kids, including face painting, a special movie, other activities and fun giveaways.
World Oceans Day is all about awareness of our waters and how to protect them. And each year, there is a special theme.
World Oceans Day has been unofficially celebrated every June 8 since 1992 and officially since 2008.
