With all that sales tax revenue coming in, the City of Alice is making lots of improvements to its city parks.
Some of those improvements are already complete, but even more are in the works.
The city says it has the money for the improvements and that the improvements are important to make its residents happy and to help attract new residents.
3News visited Anderson Park on Wednesday. One key example of why improvements are needed is a dilapidated pool, that has been out of commission for a few years.
The pool itself is over 60 years old. The city plans on demolishing the pool and replacing it with a duck pond. Meanwhile, the city has put it a new walking trail in the park and some new playscapes as well.
City officials say its citizens deserve better than the old pool that doesn't work.
