City water crews were working on a major water main break Wednesday morning in a neighborhood near Everhart and McArdle.
It did look like it was raining at the intersection of Totton and McGregor. That is where a 6" pipe busted and gushed for more than two hours.
The water shooting up so high, it even reached the power lines. Police were called out to divert traffic, but that didn't stop those who live nearby from taking it all in with their video cameras.
"Looking at it, it's scary. You wonder, what's underneath. It's old, it's scary, you don't know what street you are driving on that this could happen while you are on the road," said Janie Herrera, who lives nearby.
It's believed shifting soil caused by dry weather conditions caused the break. There were no reports of loss of water service, just some dips in pressure. The hole in the road was fixed by about 4:00 PM Tuesday.
