The new Aransas Pass Police Chief says he wants to improve his department's communication with the public and the media.

Wednesday was Eric Blanchard's first day on the job. He comes to Aransas Pass from Sinton Police Department, where he's spent most of his law enforcement career.

One of the things Blanchard wants to focus on is opening up the lines of communication between the police department, the public and the media.
