Police department veteran passed away Monday

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A long-time Corpus Christi police officer passed away Monday.

Former patrol officer Gary Schiebrel was on the force for 28 years. Since his retirement in 2010, Schiebrel began suffering from a lung-related illness. He died Monday morning, shortly after midnight.

Schiebrel was 64-years old.
