A 49-year old man was arrested Monday morning with a substantial amount of drugs on him.
Juan Perez was taken into custody by the Corpus Christi Police Department on Vanderbilt Street around 7 a.m. Police say sometime overnight, he was involved in a fight with a woman. He took off before police arrived on the scene, but Monday morning he returned, and that is when police were able to make the arrest.
Police say he was carrying a blue backpack, and it was full of drugs. The backpack contained about four big bags of pot and two pill bottles.
Perez has been charged with aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana. His bond has been set at $87,000.
