CHICAGO (Kiii Sports) - Former Carroll Tiger Courtney Hawkins was formally introduced to White Sox fans Monday after signing his contract with Chicago.

Hawkins received a reported signing bonus of $2.475 million. He'll be sent to the White Sox's high rookie ball team in Bristol, VA when he'll make his minor league debut in the next couple days.

After the press conference, Hawkins took batting practice with the big leaguers including Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko. The first round pick then threw out the first pitch along with Chicago Bulls great Scottie Pippen before the White Sox's game with the crosstown rival Cubs.
