CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
A soul surfer took some time off from the waves to talk about her story of survival Saturday night at Bay Area Fellowship off of Ayers.
Bethany Hamilton spoke about how she overcame her vicious shark-bite attack, which happened in 2003 when she was just 13-years old. She was out surfing off a beach in Hawaii when a 12-foot tiger shark ripped off her arm at the shoulder; but Saturday, she said her faith in God helped her overcome the attack.
Less than a month after the incident, Hamilton was back on a surfboard.
