Copper Theft at AEP Substation Yard

FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI POLICE DEPARTMENT -

An AEP Substation at 3701 Callicoate Road was the victim of a theft over the weekend.  AEP personnel reported someone entered the AEP yard by cutting the gate's chain leading to the power transmission area.  Once inside, the thief or thieves stole 50 feet of heavy gauge copper wire.  The theft and damage is estimated over $2000.
