Police Arrest Three on Outstanding Warrants

FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI POLICE DEPARTMENT -

There was nowhere to hide, yesterday afternoon as police officers scoured the streets looking for three wanted subjects.  At 4:15 pm, Officers J. Vela and J. Cantu found Melissa Garza, 29, at Paradise Bay Apartments and arrested her on a Felony Theft Warrant obtained by Property Crimes Detective J. Little.  Garza was originally cited for shoplifting $48 worth of store merchandise at H.E.B. Plus on Saratoga.  Due to her prior theft convictions, the Class "C" Misdemeanor was upgraded to a Felony.  She was arrested and booked on the outstanding warrant.

Twenty minutes later, at 4:35 pm, Senior Officer H. Corona checked on wanted suspect Marcus Andrew Brailey and found him at his girlfriend's. Brailey who was wanted on an Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle warrant obtained by Homicide Detective R. Torres was arrested and booked at the City Detention Center.  Brailey's bond was set $25,000.  Brailey is accused of U.U.M.V. stemming from a vehicle taken in a robbery on April 23, 2012.

Officer J. Vela booked Garza and went searching for Guadalupe Cruz, 29, and found him at Paradise Bay Apartments. Cruz was arrested and charged with a fresh off the press warrant for Felony Theft obtained by Property Crimes Detective D. Rjasko.  Cruz' bond was also set at $25,000.  Cruz is accused of stealing the victim's jewelry when she provided him with a glass of water.  Cruz was part of a flooring crew working inside the victim's home.
