CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

With the help of the Corpus Christi Police Department SWAT Team, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was able to serve two federal search warrants Friday.

They happened simultaneously at around 7:30 a.m., at two homes on Islla Drive near Horne and Prescott St. The suspects authorities were looking for weren't home at the time, but agents found firearms and ammunition.

"These search warrants are part of an ongoing investigation involving some gang members here in the city, and some violent crime they have been involved in, and some federal firearms violations," an ATF agent said.

Later on in the day, U.S. Marshals were able to pick up two male suspects in relation to the warrant. Others are still on the loose. ATF agents said the CCPD gang unit played an integral part in this investigation.
