UPDATE: The two women who were shot at a Portland Park have
been identified. Police say 19 year old Mollie Judith Olgin of Ingleside
was the murdered victim. 18 year old Mary Christine Chapa of Sinton was
also critically injured by a single gunshot wound to the head. Chapa is
currently listed in serious, but stable, condition.
Portland police are investigating the murder of one person
and the aggravated assault of another.
Shortly before 9:00 AM on Saturday, a couple visiting Violet
Andrews Park in Portland saw the bodies of two females in a grassy area below a
scenic overlook. When officers and EMS arrived, one of the victims was alive
and was immediately transported to a local hospital. Both victims had been
shot.
