The crash happened around 10:45 Saturday night on the 2800 block of Ayers near Del Mar College's East campus. The 27-year-old driver of the SUV swerved into on-coming traffic and struck the police unit head-on causing major damage to the vehicle.

The police supervisor was taken to Christus Spohn Memorial with minor injuries. The driver of the SUV was also taken Spohn Memorial with a possible broken ankle. But here's where things get interesting, while police were on the scene of the crash, someone behind the wheel decided to drive through the crime scene.  That person was pulled over.

That driver was arrested for DWI and was also wanted for a weapons violations.

We spoke with one man who witnessed it all.

Everyone involved in the crash is expected to be okay.
