The City of Alice has entered Stage Three of its drought contingency plan. That means the entire city is under mandatory water restrictions.
Alice residents with street addresses ending in even numbers now can only water on Sundays and Thursdays, while those with street addresses ending in odd numbers can only water on Saturdays and Wednesdays; and watering can only take place between 6-8 a.m. and 8-10 p.m.
Also, all plumbing leaks must be fixed as soon as possible, and using a hose to wash driveways, sidewalks, buildings or vehicles is not allowed. Using a bucket of water is ok.
Alice residents are asked to just conserve water wherever possible.
These Stage Three water restrictions are put in place when the capacity of Lake Corpus Christi falls below 39 percent. Right now, it's at 26.4 percent.
