The Corpus Christi Police Department SWAT team served a high-risk drug warrant Wednesday morning, and retrieved about 6 oz. of cocaine, various pills and a 40-caliber semiautomatic handgun.

The contraband was seized at a home on Tara Drive, near Holly and Airline. Police arrested 31-year old Ernesto Benavides.

Police said Benavides is a known gang member. He has been charged with possession, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, as well as charges for being in possession of a gun.

If found guilty of all charges, Benavides could face more than 100 years in jail.
